Prof. Dr. Orhan Uludag and Prof. Dr. Erdogan Ekiz, together with their international research colleagues, have published a new research article in Tourism: An International Interdisciplinary Journal, a peer-reviewed journal indexed in Scopus.
The article, titled “Game on: Exploring Hedonic Behavior, Social Influence, and Gamification Adoption in Tourism Through TAM,” examines the factors influencing tourists’ acceptance of digital technologies within tourism destinations.
The study investigates the role of gamification, social influence, and hedonic motivation in shaping tourists’ attitudes and behavioral intentions. The research is based on empirical data collected from more than 400 international tourists.
The findings demonstrate that gamification elements, social interaction, and user-friendly digital platforms significantly enhance tourist engagement and contribute to more effective destination marketing strategies. The authors emphasize the importance of integrating enjoyable and socially interactive digital tools to support innovation, strengthen visitor loyalty, and improve overall travel experiences.
This publication reflects strong international academic collaboration and contributes to the advancement of research on digital transformation in the global tourism industry.
