Nobel Laureate Edvard I. Moser to Speak at the Medical Conference “AMR: Challenges and Solutions” Organized by CAU

On October 31 – November 1, 2025, Central Asian University (CAU) will organize a major International Medical Conference “Combating Antimicrobial Resistance: Challenges and Prospects,” dedicated to the global issue of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The event will be held at CAEx (Central Asian Expo) in Tashkent.
A key highlight of the conference will be a lecture by Edvard I. Moser, Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine (2014) and Professor of Neuroscience at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
In his presentation, “Space, Time, and Memory: How Does the Brain Work?”, Professor Moser will share his groundbreaking research on the neural mechanisms of memory and spatial orientation. Together with his colleagues, he discovered the so-called “grid cells” — a network in the brain responsible for navigation and memory. These discoveries have become one of the most significant milestones in modern neuroscience.
The conference program will also include a special session featuring physicians from Cleveland Clinic (USA) - CAU’s strategic medical partner.
The main program will feature:

- Scientific and practical discussions on the scale and impact of AMR;

- Innovative approaches to diagnosis and monitoring;

- Modern methods of antibiotic development and alternative therapies;

- Policy discussions on AMR strategies in Uzbekistan and across Central Asia.

The goal of the conference is to bring together leading experts, clinicians, and researchers to develop practical solutions and strengthen international collaboration in medicine and science.
