CAU at TITF 2025: Expanding Horizons in Tourism and Education

Central Asian University took part in the 30th Tashkent International Tourism Fair 2025: “Tourism on the Silk Road”, held on November 27–29. As one of the most influential tourism events in the region, TITF brought together industry leaders, educators, and innovators, and CAU made a strong contribution to the dialogue on the future of regional tourism.
During the session “Geography of Cooperation: Opportunities for Interregional Tourism,” Prof. Dr. Erdogan Ekiz, Dean of the School of Hospitality Management and Tourism, delivered a keynote presentation titled “Bridging Borders: Tourism & Education for a New Silk Road.” In his speech, he emphasized Uzbekistan’s rapidly growing role as a regional tourism hub and highlighted the vital importance of education in elevating service quality, enhancing cultural diplomacy, and strengthening interregional collaboration across the Silk Road corridor.
While CAU’s leadership engaged at the strategic level, the university also fostered hands-on learning for its students. As part of the Tourism and Hotel Operations (THO) course, Ms. Ben organized a field trip for first-year students, giving them the opportunity to attend expert sessions, interact directly with industry professionals, and observe real tourism operations in practice. This immersive experience allowed students to deepen their understanding of the tourism ecosystem and build awareness of industry trends and expectations.
The university’s simultaneous participation in the fair—both through academic leadership and student engagement—underscores CAU’s commitment to advancing tourism education, strengthening cooperation with industry stakeholders, and contributing to sustainable regional development. Through initiatives like TITF 2025, CAU continues to bridge education and industry, preparing future specialists who will shape the tourism landscape of Central Asia.
