The Class of 2026 at Central Asian University has reached one of the most significant milestones of its academic journey as graduating students from the Business School, School of Engineering, School of Architecture & Design, and Dental School successfully completed their diploma defenses and final state attestation.
Over the course of several days, students presented the results of years of academic study, research, practical training, and project development before academic committees, industry representatives, and external assessors. The diploma defense period served not only as a final academic requirement but also as an opportunity for students to demonstrate the knowledge, professional competencies, and problem-solving abilities they have acquired throughout their studies at CAU.
For students of the Business School, the defense process centered around graduation and Capstone projects that addressed contemporary business, economic, and management challenges. Throughout their presentations, students showcased strong analytical thinking, research skills, and the ability to develop practical solutions for real-world issues. Their projects reflected a deep understanding of modern business environments and highlighted the importance of data-driven decision-making, innovation, and strategic planning.
The second day of defenses provided an additional opportunity for students to present their work before an academic committee that included representatives from Artel, one of the region’s leading companies. The participation of industry professionals further strengthened the connection between academic education and practical application, allowing students to receive valuable feedback from experts working directly in the field.
At the School of Engineering, graduating students presented projects that demonstrated both technical expertise and an ability to apply engineering principles to real-life challenges. Their work reflected the multidisciplinary nature of modern engineering and highlighted the practical skills developed through years of coursework, laboratory training, and project-based learning. From innovative technical solutions to research-driven developments, students demonstrated their readiness to contribute to the advancement of industry and technology.
Meanwhile, students of the School of Architecture & Design presented an impressive range of final projects that combined creativity, functionality, and technical precision. Through architectural concepts, urban development proposals, and design solutions, graduates demonstrated their ability to address contemporary challenges while balancing aesthetics, sustainability, and user-centered thinking. The projects reflected not only a high level of professional preparation but also a strong understanding of the role architecture and design play in shaping communities and improving quality of life.
A particularly historic moment during this year’s attestation period belonged to the Dental School, whose first graduating DDS cohort successfully completed the final stages of the State Attestation process. The examinations were designed to comprehensively assess both theoretical knowledge and practical clinical competencies required for professional dental practice.
Following the successful completion of the theoretical assessment, students advanced to the Practical OSCE State Attestation Examination. On June 19, members of the inaugural DDS graduating class completed the third and final stage of the examination process, which consisted of live OSCE stations, static OSCE stations, and a restorative dentistry practical assessment.
The examination was conducted with the participation of distinguished external evaluators representing academic institutions, healthcare organizations, and dental practice. Their involvement ensured an objective assessment of students’ competencies according to professional and educational standards.
During the live OSCE stations, students demonstrated essential clinical skills, including measuring a patient’s blood pressure and correctly positioning the cone of a dental radiography tube head. The static stations evaluated students’ ability to apply theoretical knowledge to clinical scenarios, including dental anesthesia techniques, histological diagnosis of oral cancer, and cephalometric analysis for orthodontic patients. In the restorative dentistry station, graduates performed active caries removal and cavity preparation, demonstrating precision, technical proficiency, and adherence to clinical protocols.
The successful completion of the OSCE examination marks the culmination of the practical component of dental education and represents a major achievement for CAU’s first DDS graduating class as they prepare to enter the profession.
Across all schools, the diploma defenses highlighted the dedication, resilience, and professionalism of CAU students.
