Central Asian University is excited to announce that a significant binational research project, led by Associate Professor H. Elif Kutlugun, has received official funding from TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye) and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan (MHES). This collaboration represents a major step forward in fostering cross-border academic partnerships and advancing joint research initiatives between Türkiye and Uzbekistan.
The project is co-led by Prof. Ali Danişman from the Social Sciences University of Ankara (Türkiye) and Assoc. Prof. H. Elif Kutlugun from Central Asian University (Uzbekistan). By combining the expertise of leading scholars and the resources of two prominent institutions, the project aims to develop innovative approaches to national circular economy strategies in both countries.
Focusing on the intersection of policy, practice, and sustainable development, the research will examine how economic, environmental, and social objectives can be integrated into effective national strategies. The initiative seeks to identify best practices for aligning legislative frameworks, institutional structures, and industrial processes to promote long-term sustainability. By analyzing comparative models, collecting empirical data, and engaging with stakeholders across sectors, the project aims to produce actionable insights that can guide policymakers, business leaders, and academic communities.
The collaboration underscores the value of international partnerships in addressing complex global challenges. By connecting researchers, institutions, and policymakers across borders, the project not only enhances academic cooperation but also contributes to practical solutions for sustainable economic development in the region.
With this project, Central Asian University continues to strengthen its role as a hub for impactful research, demonstrating leadership in initiatives that combine rigorous scholarship with real-world relevance. Associate Professor Kutlugun’s leadership highlights CAU’s commitment to advancing innovative research that bridges nations and disciplines, promoting strategic transformation and long-term regional progress.
