Central Asian University had the honor of welcoming a delegation from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) — one of South Korea’s leading research and technology universities, consistently ranked among the world’s top institutions for innovation, scientific excellence, and quality of engineering education.
The KAIST delegation included representatives of the university’s research divisions and scientific centers. During the visit, the guests met with Shirin Yunusova, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, and Dr. Chongchan Park, Professor at the CAU School of Engineering.
The meeting covered a wide range of topics related to the development of academic and research collaboration, including:
- implementation of joint scientific projects and research initiatives in priority areas of science and technology;
- exchange of faculty members, researchers, and graduate students to enhance competencies and strengthen international cooperation;
- establishment of joint laboratories and research platforms for interdisciplinary studies;
- participation in international grant programs, conferences, and innovation forums aimed at advancing scientific and technological capacity.

Following the meeting, the delegation toured CAU’s research laboratories, academic facilities, and student innovation spaces, and learned more about the university’s modern infrastructure created for students, young scientists, and researchers.
At the conclusion of the visit, both sides expressed mutual interest in strengthening their partnership and developing long-term cooperation between Central Asian University and KAIST in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.
