Central Asian University Cuts Admission Quotas and Tightens Selection for 2026

Central Asian University is introducing stricter admissions for 2026. Fewer seats are available, and competition is increasing. The university is reducing admission quotas and introducing new scholarships - covering up to 100% of tuition fees for the entire duration of study. The number of applications is already approaching 2,000 for a total of 700 available places.
This approach reflects a new admissions strategy: fewer seats, higher requirements, and stronger competition. Central Asian University is shaping a more selective academic environment and strengthening applicant screening across key fields.
A table showing the number of applicants per seat for each school has already been published on the university’s official website. It is updated daily so that applicants and parents can monitor the current level of competition.

CAU International Olympiad and New Scholarships

One of the key innovations of this admissions cycle is the International Olympiad in chemistry, mathematics, and physics, which will take place on June 12–13 at the Central Asian University campus. Based on the results, participants can receive scholarships of up to 100% for the entire duration of study, as well as special opportunities within the preparatory program Be Student.
For 11th Grade students:
  • 1st - 3rd place - 100% scholarship for the entire period of study*
  • 4th - 6th place - 50% scholarship for the entire period of study*
  • 7th - 10th place - 25% scholarship for the entire period of study*
For 10th Grade students:
  • 1st - 3rd place - 100% scholarship for the entire period of study**
  • 4th - 10th place - free access to the Be Student preparatory program with guaranteed admission to CAU upon successful completion
For Grade 9 students:
  • 1st - 10th place - free access to the Be Student preparatory program with guaranteed admission to CAU upon successful completion
* Scholarship is maintained if the GPA remains at least 3.3 each semester. Admission requires IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) for Medicine and Dentistry programs, and IELTS 5.5 (or equivalent) for other programs.
**For 10th Grade winners: the scholarship is reserved until graduation and awarded upon successful entrance exam results and meeting language requirements, or after completing the Be Student program.
Detailed participation rules, scholarship conditions, and the full International Olympiad regulations are available on the official Central Asian University website.
Overall, the university is sending two clear signals to applicants: on one hand, there are fewer places and stricter competition; on the other, strong candidates now have more opportunities to secure scholarships and gain admission through their achievements.
