“Diffuse Cutaneous Leishmaniasis Caused by Leishmania major as the Initial Presentation of HIV Misdiagnosed as Scabies and Kaposi’s Sarcoma: A Case Report”
This publication presents a rare and clinically significant case of diffuse cutaneous leishmaniasis (Leishmania major) appearing as the first manifestation of HIV infection, which was initially misdiagnosed as scabies and Kaposi’s sarcoma.
The study underscores the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, accurate clinical diagnosis, and awareness of dermatological conditions in immunocompromised patients — showcasing effective teamwork between CAU’s professors and students.
Congratulations to our researchers and graduate for contributing to Central Asian University’s expanding impact in global medical research and innovation!
