Instructions for applying for a visa
All international students admitted to Central Asian University (CAU) are required to obtain a valid student visa before traveling to Uzbekistan. After receiving your official Letter of Acceptance from CAU, you can apply for a student visa at the Embassy or Consulate of Uzbekistan in your country.

Required documents usually include:

•Passport (valid for at least 6-months after the end of your study period)
•Letter of Acceptance from Central Asian University
•Completed visa application form
•Passport-sized photographs
•Proof of financial support (bank statement, scholarship confirmation, or sponsor letter)
•Visa application fee receipt

We recommend that students apply for a visa well in advance, as processing times may vary.
  • When planning your travel:

    Book your flight to Tashkent International Airport (TAS), the closest international airport to the University.

    Inform the CAU International Office of your arrival details at least two weeks before your travel.

    Carry with you: your passport, student visa, Letter of Acceptance, and proof of accommodation.
  • Airport pickup service

    CAU provides an airport pickup service for new international students. To request this service, please complete the Arrival Form and send it to the International Office 10 days before your arrival.
    Immigration and Residence Permit
    According to Uzbek law, all international students must register their stay in Uzbekistan. Within three working days of arrival, students must be registered at their place of residence.
  • The CAU international office will assist you with:

    Registration with the immigration authorities
    Residence permit procedures
    Renewals of your visa and residence permit during your study period
