PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
2023 07 - CAU - Academic Book - 03A Nation is not made wealthy by the childish accumulation of shiny metals, but the economic prosperity of it enriches it's people". Adam Smith could not have been more precise, indicating the way to modern economic thinking and overcoming the then-prevailing mercantilist theory. Economics studies the production, consumption, and transfer of wealth; it investigates how human activities are organized and provides the ultimate theoretical backing for societal and governmental improvement.

The economic debate has rarely been more intense: technology-enable de-centralization has revolutionized supply chains, while for the first time in history over the past 25 years, over 1 billion people have left poverty, placing pressures on social and civil infrastructures. Governments, firms, and investment funds need economists more than ever to identify these trends in context and gain the latest competitive edge; at Central Asian University, we pride ourselves on educating these future leaders.
