Welcoming New International Specialist Dr. Richard Barfell (USA) to Central Asian University Medical School

We are delighted to welcome a new distinguished specialist in medicine to our team—Dr. Richard Barfell! Dr. Barfell is a highly qualified family physician with international experience, who received his medical education from Indiana University School of Medicine. He also completed his family medicine residency at McLeod Regional Medical Center in South Carolina, where he gained extensive knowledge and skills in treating various medical conditions.

Dr. Barfell's expertise extends to a wide range of conditions, including stroke, diabetes, and other chronic illnesses. His active involvement in urgent and primary care, where he provides high-quality treatment to patients in critical situations, underscores his commitment to patient care and the practical skills he can impart to our students.

Dr. Barfell's professional journey includes significant roles at prestigious medical institutions such as PRISMA Health and Spartanburg Regional Healthcare in South Carolina. He also served as a hospitalist at Apogee Physicians. Notably, he held the position of Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he shared his knowledge and experience with medical students, underscoring his commitment to education and his potential to inspire and guide our students.

Dr. Barfell is actively involved in scientific research and has publications in physiology. He has also participated in charitable medical trips to Honduras and the Dominican Republic, where he provided medical care to local residents.
