Central Asian University proudly participated in the 9th International Conference on Future Networks & Distributed Systems (ICFNDS 2025), held in Dubai on 8–9 December. The university was represented by students of the CAU Business School — Azizakhon Atkhamova, Azizbek Mirzaev, and Dilzodakhon Rakhimova — who showcased their research alongside scholars and professionals from around the world.
Under the supervision of Professor Azamat Salomov, the students presented a quantitative research project titled “Exploring the Nexus Between Digitalization and Sustainable Development: Evidence from CIS Countries.” The study provides empirical insights into how digital transformation contributes to long-term sustainable development across countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, highlighting the growing role of digital innovation in shaping economic and social progress.
In addition, under the academic guidance of Professor Elif Kutlugün, the team presented a qualitative study entitled “The Ambivalent Gaze: Student Perspectives on Surveillance in Higher Education.” This research explores how university students perceive contemporary surveillance practices within academic environments, raising important ethical and social questions related to privacy, trust, and digital governance in higher education institutions.
ICFNDS 2025 brought together leading scholars, industry experts, and practitioners to discuss the evolving impact of digitalization on economies, sustainability, and education. The contributions from Central Asian University highlighted both the transformative potential of digital technologies and the ethical considerations they introduce in modern universities.
The participation of Azizakhon Atkhamova, Azizbek Mirzaev, and Dilzodakhon Rakhimova reflects Central Asian University’s expanding presence on the global research stage and its strong commitment to supporting young scholars engaged in meaningful, internationally relevant research. Central Asian University congratulates the students and their academic supervisors, Professors Elif Kutlugün and Azamat Salomov, on this notable achievement and wishes them continued success in their academic and research endeavors.
