Over 1,500 Students from Central Asia Participated in the Central Asian University International Olympiad
From June 11 to 13, Central Asian University hosted its first International Olympiad in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry for students in Grades 9–11 from across Central Asia. More than 1,500 school students from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan took part in the competition.
The main prize was a scholarship of up to 100% covering the entire period of study at Central Asian University.
Over three days, participants tackled advanced Olympiad-level problems, competing for scholarship opportunities and special admission advantages. For many students, the Olympiad became their first experience with an academic format closely aligned with university-level education.
In addition to the competition itself, participants explored campus life, visited university laboratories and learning facilities, and gained insight into educational pathways in engineering, medicine, and business.
Scholarships for Grade 11 students were awarded as follows:
1st–3rd places - 100% scholarship for the entire period of study;
4th–6th places - 50% scholarship;
7th–10th places - 25% scholarship.
Grade 10 students received an opportunity to qualify for scholarships upon graduation from school, subject to successful completion of admission requirements. Winners among Grade 9 students were awarded free participation in the CAU Be Student preparatory program, along with additional admission benefits.
Each Olympiad discipline was directly connected to the university’s academic programs.
Physics and Mathematics were designed for students interested in pursuing studies in engineering, information technology, architecture, and business. Participants in these disciplines can continue their education in programs such as Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Architecture and Design, Accounting and Finance, Marketing, and International Business.
The Chemistry Olympiad was intended for students considering careers in medicine and dentistry. The knowledge assessed through the competition forms the foundation for future studies in the Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) and Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) programs.
According to the organizers, one of the Olympiad’s key objectives was to help students understand the connection between the subjects they study and their future careers, while also providing talented learners with additional opportunities to gain admission based on their academic achievements.
Congratulations to the Winners of the International Olympiad 2026!

The Olympiad was organized as part of Central Asian University’s new admissions strategy. In 2026, the university reduced its intake to 700 seats and strengthened its admissions standards, focusing on attracting highly motivated and academically prepared applicants. At the same time, the number of applications has already approached 4,000, creating a highly competitive admissions environment across nearly all academic programs.
The Olympiad provided participants with an opportunity to assess their proficiency in key subjects and better understand how school knowledge translates into future professional pathways. The same principle lies at the heart of CAU’s educational model.
From the first year of study, students gain hands-on experience in engineering and IT laboratories, medical simulation centers, the Fab Lab architecture workshop, and the Bloomberg Lab, applying their knowledge through real-world projects, research initiatives, and professional challenges.
Central Asian University brings together six academic schools:
Medical School;
School of Dentistry;
Business School;
School of Engineering;
School of Architecture and Design;
School of Hospitality and Tourism.
The university offers English-medium education, internationally aligned academic standards, student mobility opportunities, scholarship programs, and partnerships with leading companies and organizations.
Applications for the 2026–2027 academic year remain open.
