AI in Medicine: CAU Scholars Publish a Study on the Future of Digital Healthcare

Professor Jeong Chan Park, Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Associate Professor at both the School of Engineering and the School of Medicine at CAU, together with Iroda Sodiqovna, a third-year student at the School of Medicine, have published a research article titled “AI in Medicine: Recent Progress, Opportunities, and Future Directions.”
The study provides an overview of how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming modern medicine — from enhancing diagnostic accuracy and personalizing treatment in radiology, cardiology, and oncology to integrating medical data and accelerating drug discovery. The authors emphasize that AI technologies are paving the way toward faster, more precise, and data-driven healthcare.
The article also explores ethical and organizational aspects of AI adoption, highlighting the importance of responsible data use and collaboration among engineers, clinicians, and researchers.
This research reflects CAU’s commitment to academic excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and student mentorship, reinforcing the university’s role as a hub of innovation at the intersection of medicine, engineering, and technology.
