Engineering School Research Published in Chemistry

A research article co-authored by Professor Ulugbek Togaev from the Engineering School has been published in the peer-reviewed journal Chemistry (MDPI).

The publication, "Phytochemical Analysis of Extracts from Waste of Technical Grape Varieties and Pomegranate Peel Processed in South Kazakhstan," examines the phytochemical composition of extracts obtained from grape pomace and pomegranate peel, two by-products of agricultural production.

The study evaluates their potential as sources of bioactive compounds and explores opportunities for their use in food, pharmaceutical, and industrial applications.

The findings indicate that these agricultural by-products contain a diverse range of phenolic compounds, supporting their potential for sustainable resource utilization and the development of value-added products.

The research also contributes to ongoing studies in green extraction technologies and approaches aimed at reducing agricultural waste.
