Delegation of Central Asian University and AKFA Medline University Hospital Completes Advanced Training at Cleveland Clinic

A delegation of Central Asian University (CAU) and AKFA Medline University Hospital has successfully completed the Global Physician Leadership Immersion Program at Cleveland Clinic, one of the world’s leading medical centers.
Over the course of two days, participants explored cutting-edge approaches to healthcare management, clinical effectiveness, and patient-centered care. The program combined campus tours, interactive modules, networking sessions, and meetings with Cleveland Clinic’s leading physicians and administrators.
Delegates from Uzbekistan included CAU and AKFA Medline University Hospital’s senior clinicians and administrators responsible for cardiac surgery, urology, infection control, international relations, and healthcare project management.
For our team, this is not just training but an investment in the future of medicine in Uzbekistan. The knowledge and skills we brought back from Cleveland Clinic will be applied in the design and launch of CAU Hospital. We are committed to introducing international standards and building a system where patients receive world-class care, said Dr. Azimjon Tursunkulov, CEO of AKFA Medline University Hospital.
This experience forms part of CAU’s long-term strategic collaboration with Cleveland Clinic, focused on the development of the new CAU Hospital in Tashkent. Scheduled to open in 2027, the 120-bed facility will become a multidisciplinary Center of Excellence, integrating international standards, advanced technologies, and innovative practices in healthcare and medical education.
By engaging in global leadership programs and adopting best practices from Cleveland Clinic, CAU and AKFA Medline University Hospital are laying the foundation for a stronger healthcare system in Uzbekistan — one that combines education, research, and patient care at the highest international level.
