Central Asian University Presents RE:BRICK at Fuorisalone Milano 2026
Central Asian University took part in Fuorisalone Milano 2026 — one of the key events of Milano Design Week — presenting RE:BRICK, a project developed by students of the School of Architecture and Design.
The project offers a contemporary interpretation of the Uzbek mahalla through material, atmosphere, and spatial thinking. At its core is an attempt to reinterpret a local cultural environment within a global architectural language, while preserving its identity and underlying meanings.
RE:BRICK was developed as a visual and spatial exploration, unfolding through a series of renders and illustrations that form a cohesive narrative about memory embedded in space. Familiar elements of everyday life — textures, rhythms, thresholds, and collective patterns — are reimagined within a new architectural framework.
A central element of the project is RE:BRICK, an eco-friendly building material made from recycled components. It is presented as a sustainable architectural solution that allows for engagement with heritage while responding to contemporary challenges.
The presentation of the project at Fuorisalone Milano brings students’ work onto an international professional platform where the global design agenda is shaped. It demonstrates how emerging architects and designers can translate local identity into a contemporary international context, combining research, visual expression, and sustainable thinking.
Milano Design Week is one of the world’s leading design events, bringing together Salone del Mobile.Milano and the city-wide Fuorisalone program. In 2026, it takes place from April 20 to April 26 in Milan, Italy, with a focus on sustainability, inclusiveness, and the promotion of young talent.
